Professional Development

This writing workshop employs a cognitive, cumulative, and sequential approach to teaching writing. You will learn how to mediate instruction and develop oral language skills to facilitate higher level thinking which supports the writing process. Additionally, multisensory techniques for teaching the writing process including methods of brainstorming, planning and organizing ideas, creating effective hooks and thesis statements, transitions and conclusions will be covered. Emphasis will be placed on mechanics of writing including sentence structure and variety as well as effective strategies for editing.
