This OGA-accredited course consists of high-quality training in structured, multisensory language instruction followed by an optional practicum. By taking this course you will learn to apply the Orton-Gillingham approach to provide literacy instruction for general classroom or small groups, to the benefit of all learners.
Orton-Gillingham Associate Level Instructor Training
This OGA-accredited course consists of high-quality training in structured, multisensory language instruction, followed by an optional practicum. By taking this course you will learn to unlock the code of language and learn to deliver 1:1 intervention to struggling readers.
Prerequisite: OG Classroom Educator from OGA
Orton-Gillingham Certified Level Instructor Training
This OGA Certified Level course is intended for individuals who have achieved Associate level membership with the Academy and wish to hone their practice. In this training you will learn how to work with students with complex learning needs and at a higher level of instruction.
Prerequisite: Associate Level Certification through OGA

Format: One-Day Workshop
Level 1. Executive Function: Introduction to Executive Function
This workshop will examine the cause of executive function (EF) challenges and provide you with tools to assist your students who struggle in these areas. You will receive interactive practice, student assessments, and take-home templates to bring directly into the classroom.
Upon completion, you will be empowered to guide your students in regulating their behaviour and emotions, reflecting on their thinking processes, and developing strategies that enable them to succeed in school and life.

Level 2a. Executive Function: Promoting Self-Awareness
Self-awareness is a crucial skill for navigating the world as it relates to how we think, feel, learn, connect and behave. This workshop uses an interactive approach to explore theoretical frameworks, practical executive function (EF) strategies and hands on tools that will help students achieve greater self-awareness and self-efficacy in the classroom and beyond.

Level 2b. Executive Function: Planning and Prioritizing
This workshop will focus on the executive functions (EF) of planning, prioritizing and time management. You will receive interactive tools and strategies to support students to navigate these crucial aspects of learning. By applying these new skills, your students will become more independent, confident and competent learners. They will develop a stronger sense of self-efficacy and self-esteem as they gain the skills needed to complete assignments and tasks on time.

Executive Function and the Writing Process
This workshop combines the theory and practice of how to facilitate the writing process with a structured, sequential, and multisensory approach. Educators completing this course will gain a better understanding of the relationship between writing and the brain. Wellness in the Classroom Series
This Wellness in the Classroom Series provides educators with the science, theoretical frameworks and practical strategies to support students with learning differences in developing healthy wellness habits that facilitate learning.
This series of four workshops (each three hours long) provides interactive practice and templates that support students to develop skills such as self-regulation, resilience, and a growth mindset to navigate school and life successfully.
