Whether your child is navigating dyscalculia, math anxiety, or simply needs to build foundational skills, we don’t rely on surface-level drills. Our educators use the evidence-based Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) framework, using hands-on manipulatives to make abstract formulas visual and intuitive. By blending executive function and math mindset strategies right into our sessions, we help students transform from frustrated learners into confident, independent mathematicians.

Our intensive, student-centered math intervention includes:

Diagnostic Mapping: Identifying the structural blocks holding your child back in their math journey.
Educational History Review: Analyzing past classroom trends and psycho-educational assessments (if applicable) to pinpoint math needs.
Individualized Learning Blueprint: Crafting a personalized, structured roadmap unique to your child’s pace and curriculum goals.
Evidence-Based Multisensory Instruction: Using the Concrete-Representational-Abstract (CRA) framework to build a deep, understanding of concepts before introducing abstract, number-based work.
Fact Fluency Building: Deploying strategy-based instruction and targeted games to support accuracy and automaticity of math facts.
Mindset & Executive Function Integration: Embedding targeted strategies directly into sessions to expand math vocabulary, deconstruct multi-step word problems, and build strategies to juggle multiple ideas through complex procedures.
Transparent Progress Tracking: Providing regular, milestone-driven updates so you can see their skills and mathematical confidence open up.

Is Math Essentials Right for Your Child?

This 1:1 program is designed for students who find it challenging to retain or apply math facts, despite regular classroom instruction.

No Formal Diagnosis Required: You do not need a psycho-educational assessment or a formal diagnosis to enroll. If your child needs support, they qualify for it.

Which program would be most beneficial for my child?

Is it possible to just have one weekly tutoring session?

Our policy for 1:1 Math Essentials is to provide a minimum of two sessions per week per semester. Research shows that the frequency of at least two sessions per week is needed for students to maximize the benefits of 1:1 remediation.

How quickly will my child be able to do academic work at age-appropriate levels?

This depends on what the learning issues are. We work “as fast as we can and as slow as we need to.” Our goal is to build your child’s skills in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning so that they gain the confidence to take on academic challenges.

What if my child has to miss a session?

In the event that you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please note the following:

Payment is non-refundable.
If a child is unable to attend a session, contact us or the child’s tutor at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for a make-up session.
If less than 24 hours notice is provided, no make-up sessions will be provided and payment will be forfeited.
If your scheduled make-up session is missed or canceled it will be considered forfeit.
A maximum of two make-up sessions will be provided per semester.

Who are our instructors?

All of our instructional team holds a relevant academic background and has completed our rigorous, intensive in-house training program in evidence-based math intervention methods. To maintain the highest standard of clinical excellence, our instructors receive ongoing mentoring and continuous professional development.

How are students and instructors paired?

Successful remediation relies on a highly strategic pairing process. During your intake, we carefully analyze your child’s unique educational profile, specific academic gaps, and scheduling availability.

Because we know our instructional team’s individual areas of expertise and personalities, we pair your child with the educator best suited to unlock their potential. It is in our shared interest to get this right from day one! However, if the match isn’t a fit, we remain agile and will work to transition your child to another educator who is.
