Orton-Gillingham Training: Clinical Level
(Part 1 Coursework, Part 2 Coursework, and Practicum)
Prerequisite: OGA Associate Level Certification
This OGA Clinical Level course is intended for individuals who have achieved Associate Level membership with the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA) and wish to hone their practice. The Clinical Level member will be able to explain the underlying principles, concepts and procedures of the Orton-Gillingham approach and how it teaches the structure of the language. They will be able to interpret diagnostic evaluations, administer relevant diagnostic testing, write case histories and work with complex students.
This course meets the requirements of the OGA, and is taught by an Accredited Training Fellow of the OGA.

Applications for the OG Training: Clinical Level Practicum can be made at any time. The practicum may run in parallel to coursework. OG Training: Clinical Level Part 1 and Part 2 courses can be taken in any order.
After completion of OG Training: Clinical Level Part 1 and Part 2, and the Practicum, applications for the Clinical Level of membership to the Orton-Gillingham Academy can be made.

OG Training: Clinical Level Practicum
- Over a minimum of 2 academic years
- Minimum of 10 observations teaching 1:1 lessons
- 45-60 lessons twice per week on nonconsecutive days
How to Apply
To apply for the OG Training: Clinical Level, submit an application package via the “Apply Now” button. The requirements are as follows:
- OGA Associate Level Certification
- Post-secondary degree (highest level of education earned to be specified in your application)
- Verification of OGA Associate Level Certification
- Previous Orton-Gillingham based or related training (1 paragraph input on application form)
- Resume (attach as a PDF)
- Letter of Reference (attach as a PDF)

OG Training: Clinical Level Practicum
- $250 per observation
As of the application deadline (two weeks prior to course start date), all course fees are non-refundable.

Colleen Chow is the Executive Director, Training & Learning at Fraser Academy. Ms. Chow is a Fellow of Record of the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA), an International Dyslexia Association (IDA) Certified Dyslexia Specialist, and a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) through the National Institute of Learning Development (NILD).
