The Brain and Learning Language
We are happy to have Fraser Academy’s Colleen Chow, Director of Learning Services, presenting on The Brain and Learning Language. Please remember to RSVP if you have not done so already.
In this presentation, Ms. Chow will share how the brain is organized for the processing of language and learning. She will explain the different pathways used for dyslexic students during reading and highlight the benefit of multisensory instruction when teaching our students.
This presentation is ideal for parents who would like a deeper understanding of the learning process for dyslexic students in relation to the developing brain.

About the Presenter
Colleen Chow
Director of Learning Services at Fraser Academy
Ms. Chow first trained in the Orton Gillingham method to learn about learning disabilities when her son was diagnosed with dyslexia. She became a Learning Specialist at Fraser Academy in 2008 and is now Director of Learning Services. Ms. Chow is a certified Dyslexia Therapist, Educational Therapist, and AOGPE Fellow-in-Training. In addition to working with young students, Ms. Chow trains educators in Orton Gillingham.
