Who We Are

Sara Bruner is in her second year at Fraser Academy, serving as the Physical Health and Education (PHE) Department Head and Grade 12 Advisor. She has over 20+ years of teaching experience, where she developed her passion for fostering a love of movement in all students. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that PHE is about more than just sport; it’s about providing students with the fundamental skills to find a lifelong passion for physical activity. By creating this foundation at Fraser Academy, she hopes to inspire students to continue their movement journey into their post-secondary years and beyond.

An athlete still, Ms. Bruner competed at both the national and varsity levels playing field hockey while attending the University of Victoria, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Biology. She later completed her Master’s in Educational Leadership and continues to develop her practice within the CAIS Leadership series.

Ms. Bruner is an avid outdoor enthusiast who loves cycling, running, kayaking, and golfing. When she’s not at Fraser Academy, she is busy keeping up with her three children and their dog, sharing her passion for an active lifestyle with her family.
