Preenan Peony holds a Master of Arts in Education from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from York University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude.

Ms. Peony has worked in the field of education for over a decade, specializing in language-based learning differences and literacy intervention. She has been a full-time Learning Specialist at Fraser Academy since 2019. In this role, she supports students in developing foundational literacy, executive functioning, and cognitive processing skills through evidence-based, multisensory instruction.

Prior to her work at Fraser Academy, Ms. Peony served as a Learning Specialist at Little House Tutoring and Learning Centre, where she assessed literacy needs, developed individualized education plans, and designed comprehensive literacy and math programs. She also brings experience teaching English as an additional language across a wide range of age groups, from early learners to university students.

Her earlier professional experiences include research and educational work with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) where she supported initiatives on migration policy, access to education, and community reintegration.

Ms. Peony is passionate about inclusive education, language and literacy development, and empowering students to reach their full potential through individualized and compassionate instruction.
