Who We Are

Since 2019, Naomi Johnston has been leading the Admissions team at Fraser Academy and helping families understand how Fraser Academy’s specialised teaching approach can help unlock their child’s potential. She is committed to ensuring that every child who enters the school’s doors will have the opportunity to overcome their challenges with dyslexia, embrace their strengths, and thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Curious by nature, Mrs. Johnston is passionate about discovering the whole child and reimagining how they might thrive in a supportive and nurturing environment. As a proud parent of two dyslexic children who have benefitted from Fraser Academy’s day school and outreach program, Mrs. Johnston has first-hand experience of the transformational journey that awaits a well-supported child.

Originally from Scotland, she graduated from St. Andrews University with a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Biology, then converted to law and became a corporate finance lawyer at leading U.K. law firms. Immediately prior to joining Fraser Academy, Mrs. Johnston spent 13 years at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, a renowned post-secondary arts institution in Alberta, where she worked in a variety of project and operations management roles to create residency experiences and drive enrolment for literary and visual artists, as well as faculty.

In her spare time, Mrs. Johnston can be found hiking with her family and dog, and mountain biking (gently) on the local trails. She is also a keen paddler, tennis player, and arts lover.
