Who We Are

Jalynn Skeir, originally from Halifax, Nova Scotia, earned her undergraduate degree from Cape Breton University in 2017. There, she completed a BSc, majoring in Biology and Psychology, while competing for five years as a varsity athlete with the women’s basketball team. She went on to complete her Bachelor’s of Education at Acadia University with specializations in Science and Physical Education. During her time at Acadia, Ms. Skeir also served as an assistant coach with the Axewomen basketball program for three years.

She later returned to Halifax, where she helped to build a basketball program while teaching full-time at fellow CAIS school, Armbrae Academy. After four years at Armbrae, she moved to Vancouver, BC, to pursue a coaching career as the Lead Assistant Coach of the UBC women’s basketball team.

Passionate about athletics, health, and working with young people, Ms. Skeir is excited to bring her experience back into the classroom at Fraser Academy.
