Who We Are

Dennis Innes brings more than two decades of leadership and academic experience in education. Most recently, he served as Dean of the School of Hospitality, Food Studies and Business at Vancouver Community College (VCC). He has held senior roles as Dean of the School of Trades and the School of Language Studies, overseeing budgets, cross-departmental collaboration, and large academic teams.

Earlier in his career, Dennis held director and faculty positions at VCC and at Language Studies Canada, where he led curriculum development, faculty mentorship, and national project management for language training initiatives. He has contributed to national language assessment pilots and led partnerships with organizations such as Fortis, Samsung, and the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks.

Dennis holds a Master of Education In Leadership from St. Francis Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He is known for building strong teams, developing innovative programs, and fostering international and domestic institutional partnerships that support learners’ success and community impact.

Dennis’ leadership extends beyond education into governance, serving as President of the Board for Skills Canada BC, the BC representative for Skills Canada, and a board member for Helios Learning Point Society, as well as various business school and hospitality industry advisory boards.
