Who We Are

Ms. Cindy Schreyer is an artist, art teacher, and Art Integration Specialist who brings creativity and passion into every classroom. Since 2012, she has been teaching at Fraser Academy, where her students’ work has earned international art awards. Cindy also teaches at Arts Umbrella, where she has worked since 2011, and many of her students have been selected for prestigious gallery shows.

As an Art Integration Specialist, Cindy designs projects that help students connect with the curriculum in meaningful and creative ways, working across all grade levels and subject areas. Research shows that art integration enhances learning for all students, with particularly strong benefits for students with dyslexia. Peer-reviewed studies demonstrate nearly 100% retention when curriculum is taught through the arts, showing the lasting impact of this approach.

A practicing artist herself, Cindy continues to explore new mediums and techniques, sharing her experiences to enrich her students’ learning. She believes that art is not only about skill, but also about imagination, critical thinking, problem-solving, and self-expression. Her goal is to create a welcoming, collaborative environment where every student feels empowered to take risks and grow as a learner and creator.
