New Campus Highlights
Room to Move and Grow
Our new campus offers 90,000 square feet across two floors to serve Junior, Middle, and Senior students under one roof. That’s 2.5 times the space we have on West 10th Avenue!
Values-Aligned for Educational Excellence
Our new school environment will be optimized for dyslexic learners, supporting Social-Emotional Learning and aligning with our core RAISE values.
Learning Spaces that Inspire
Our new campus will offer custom multisensory classrooms, low-sensory zones, and quiet breakout spaces to support focus and self-regulation.
Frequently Asked Questions
We will continue to update this section as our community asks for information: please check back regularly, or submit your questions and feedback via the Campus Relocation Feedback Form.
From the beginning, our vision has been to find a lasting home that truly supports the distinctive teaching and learning that define Fraser Academy and FAx. Thanks to a rare alignment of opportunity and timing in the real estate market, we have been able to secure a remarkable facility, one that feels as unique as our school community itself. Previously a college, this new space offers us the chance to create something special for our students and families.
This move allows us to thoughtfully update spaces like art studios, science labs, a teaching kitchen, and collaborative areas for our faculty, all tailored to the needs of our day school and FAx students. Our new campus will offer amenities and opportunities that simply aren’t possible at West 10th, opening new doors for learning and connection.
Our priority has always been finding the best option for our community. In February 2026, we had communicated that we were pursuing a dual track approach to finding our new home: we considered rebuilding on our current site, or finding a suitable building to move into. Thanks to a rare alignment of opportunity and timing in the real estate market, we have been able to secure a remarkable facility, one that feels as unique as our school community itself.
By purchasing the Renfrew property, we are investing in a permanent home that builds long-term value for our community, something we could not achieve on leased land at West 10th Avenue. Rather than embarking on a costly and complex new build, we are able to renovate an existing, spacious two-storey facility, making the most of our resources and reducing both costs and risks along the way.
This approach gives us the flexibility to design spaces that truly support our dyslexic learners—think spacious classrooms, enhanced learning areas, and a future gym—all while sparing our students and families from years of construction delays or temporary moves.
Our new home at 2665 Renfrew Street is centrally located in Vancouver, with convenient access to the Millennium Line and major routes like Highway 1, Broadway, Grandview Highway, and Knight Street.
Getting there:
- SkyTrain: 3-minute walk to Renfrew Station on the Millennium Line.
- Bus Corridors: Steps from the #16 bus and #99 B-Line.
- Broadway Subway: Less than 15 minutes from Arbutus Station when the Broadway Subway extension opens in Fall 2027.
- Driving & Parking: Direct access via Highway 1 with ample shared parking on-site.
- Nearby Parks: Short walk to Beaconsfield, John Hendry, and Renfrew Community parks for outdoor activities.
Renfrew Heights is a safe, family-friendly neighbourhood that offers a wide range of amenities. Many of the families in our community, including staff and faculty, reside in the neighbourhood or in the surrounding areas. Some of the benefits include its central location, the easy access it provides to green spaces, and access to urban amenities.
While timelines sometimes have a mind of their own, we promise to keep you updated if anything changes. For now, here’s what we can expect on our journey:
- Late 2026:
- Finalizing details for building permits (December)
- Communicating the final transportation plan
- January 2027: Construction begins.
- Communicating move date with families
- Late Spring 2027: Phase 1 construction completed; teachers pack classrooms for summer.
- July & August 2027: Professional movers relocate classrooms and admin.
- September 2027: Target opening and move-in for the new academic year.
A dedicated committee of current leaders, volunteers, and alum parents is guiding this project, with strong support from our senior leadership team. We have also partnered with SSDG Interiors and VPAC Construction Group, both chosen for their expertise in creating inspiring school spaces.
Since 2020, we have been listening closely to educators, students, and families to ensure the design reflects the needs and hopes of our whole community.
Tuition will remain the same for the 2026/27 school year, and no tuition funds were used to fund the purchase of the new building: the building acquisition was funded through a combination of campaign gifts, including significant gifts from FA and FAx families, and the wider community as well as investments made over time through the Fraser Academy Foundation.
We are actively exploring ways to keep tuition increases in check in the future: tuition for the 2027–28 school year will be set and announced per our annual schedule.
We are collaborating closely with groups like the Fraser Academy Parents Community (FAPC) and our staff and faculty to refine our transportation plan. We are evaluating several options, including central Westside shuttles, carpool networks, and even SkyTrain Buddies to help students travel together.
According to TransLink, the Broadway Subway Line extension is on track to open in Fall 2027. We will continue to monitor the project and consider public transportation dependencies in our transportation planning.
In late October, we will host a transportation-specific Q&A session with the FAPC. Stay tuned for the registration link.
We aim to communicate a complete transportation plan in December.
No. Our core educational values, low student-to-teacher ratios, and specialized multisensory instruction will not change.
At the curricular level, your child’s education will not change.
Our search for a permanent home was always driven by our commitment to Educational Excellence, personalized for every student.
Throughout the design process, we have centred student learning and teacher well-being: the new campus will offer more storage than ever before, spaces for students to move, wiggle, and stretch, quiet rooms for focused study, and wider hallways to make moving through the school a breeze.
We know that calm, comfortable students are ready to learn, and teachers with the right tools can do their very best work. That’s why our community’s well-being has been a guiding priority. We are designing classrooms that help reduce distractions and stress, supporting students in staying calm and focused. With better airflow, less noise, and modern amenities for teachers, we are creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
When we move in, students will enjoy a dedicated movement studio on the Middle/Senior floor and a multipurpose space for our Junior School—together offering more room for physical education and movement than we have today.
For outdoor play and athletics, we are working with the City to secure playground permits for a September 2027 launch, and partnering with the Vancouver School Board and neighbouring schools to ensure our students have access to fields and fitness spaces.
Looking ahead, Phase 2 will bring a full gym to our campus, once fundraising and permits are in place. Construction will be planned for school breaks, so students can keep learning and playing safely, with as little disruption as possible.
While we do not have plans for a cafeteria at this time, we will continue to offer our hot lunch program through MunchaLunch.
Our classrooms will offer much more space for Junior School students to enjoy lunch together, with plenty of multipurpose and lounge areas for Middle and Senior School students to gather over lunch break without leaving campus.
Older students who prefer to venture out for lunch will find a variety of convenient take-out options nearby, many just a short walk away and without the need to cross busy streets.
We welcome your support!
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our current and alumni families, FAx families, and philanthropic partners—including several major 6- and 7-figure gifts—we have raised $18.56M to date. In addition, our Foundation has contributed a grant of $18.54M towards this total, bringing our combined impact to over $37 million.
We are currently in the final countdown phase of our campaign to secure vital funds for necessary renovations and essential Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E).
Following our move-in, we will transition into a quiet phase for Phase 2 of the project, which will focus primarily on raising funds for our new gym facilities.
It would be our honor to partner with you to achieve this milestone. As we reach the final stretch of our building project, your philanthropic support will help us cross the finish line and bring this vision to life. A variety of prominent naming opportunities are available for families and donors wishing to leave a lasting legacy in our new home.

When the Fraser Academy Outreach & Training Centre (FAx) relocates to our new permanent campus, it will do so under the banner of the Centre for Dyslexia.
