On October 15, MLA for Vancouver-Point Grey and Premier of British Columbia, David Eby, visited Fraser Academy to present the Government of British Columbia’s Proclamation to some of our students declaring October as Dyslexia Awareness Month.

This recognition from the Province, at our request for the third straight year, helps amplify the heightened awareness generated through Dyslexia Awareness Month and shows support for people with dyslexia in BC. It highlights the importance of an inclusive education system in which all students are entitled to equitable access to learning, opportunities for achievement, and the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their educational programs.

By shining a light on dyslexia, the Province acknowledges the value and potential of dyslexic thinkers, and reinforces the significance of continued awareness and understanding in communities throughout BC.

We are grateful to the Government of BC for championing this cause and supporting the efforts of educators, families, and organizations working to ensure that every learner has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
