Odyssey 2021: April & May Update

The Odyssey students have been observing and studying everything from Tree Swallows to Caddis Flies over the past month or so. They’ve explored layering their watercolours, and romantic and contemporary poetry, from Wordsworth and Plath, to Oliver and Tupac.

They enjoyed a geological cycling tour of Stanley Park and participated in Mr. Frank’s trial survey exploring student engagement with the climate crisis. The role of large conifers in our ecosystems was one among many things they pondered while surveying biodiversity and biomass at different elevations.

This week they practiced their sweep strokes, and successfully completed their wet exits in preparation for a kayaking day trip to Twin Islands where they will compete for the “The Titanium Spork,” an accolade awarded to only the most delicious and nutritious camp stove cooked meal.
