Sophia Strang has carved out an impressive path in the world of classical music, defying the challenges of dyslexia along the way.

Reflecting on her high school years, Sophia recalls, “Fraser Academy taught me how to advocate for myself, which has been invaluable in both my academic and professional life.” This lesson helped guide her through her studies at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Classical Vocal Performance.

Since completing her degree in 2023, Sophia has continued to make her mark in the opera world, performing in productions like The Magic Flute in Berlin and at various recitals in New York City.

“Opera performance is a marathon, not a sprint,” she says, emphasizing the patience and dedication required in her craft. Despite the difficulties of navigating a demanding field with a learning difference, Sophia’s perseverance has been key to her success.
