Unlocking Your Child’s Hidden Mathematical Mind
Join us for our upcoming Community Education Night featuring Nicola Lott, M.Ed., FAx Math and Executive Function Program Lead. As both an educator and a dyslexic learner, Nicola brings a powerful, personal perspective on making math accessible for minds that think differently. Having experienced math struggles herself and later supporting her own child through similar challenges, she understands how discouraging math can feel for both children and parents.
In this candid and practical talk, Nicola reframes math difficulty as less about numbers and more about the executive function skills that help children hold, organize, and apply mathematical thinking. She will share research-informed strategies that externalize memory, reduce cognitive load, and combine multisensory math with executive function support. You’ll leave with a clear, practical roadmap to help your child build confidence, resilience, and success in math and beyond.

Nicola Lott, M.Ed.
Executive Function Skill Development and Math Essentials Program Lead
Nicola Lott is the Executive Function Skill Development and Math Essentials Program Lead at the FAx Outreach Centre. She holds a Master of Special Education, is an accredited Structured Literacy Interventionist and Orton-Gillingham Supervisor with specialized training in multisensory math and executive function. Nicola has a love for making math accessible, specifically by embedding executive function support into the learning process. She has provided training for teachers and school districts across North America in implementing evidence-based, assessment-driven frameworks, bridging the gap between clinical research and everyday classroom success.
