1. Consider Bursary Assistance

We believe that all students, regardless of their family’s economic situation, deserve a school setting where they can learn and prosper.

  • Financial assistance is awarded annually by Fraser Academy to both current and new families based on demonstrated financial need.
  • It is awarded in the form of a discount (up to 50% off tuition). In 2024-25, over 40 students received an average of $15,000 in financial assistance (totalling over $600,000 of support).

2. Claim Tuition as a Medical Expense (available to all families regardless of income level)

CRA has accepted Fraser Academy tuition as an eligible medical expense for the Medical Expense Tax Credit.

The expense may be claimed via one of the following, depending on your financial circumstances:

  • Private Health Services Plan (PHSP): possibly more
  • Health Spending Account (HSA): possibly more

3. Explore the Disability Tax Credit

Families have had success applying for CRA’s Disability Tax Credit (DTC) which could provide:

  • Tax relief per child under 18 years: up to $3,200/year
  • Registered Disability Savings Plan: matching grants and bonds up to $4,500/year or $90,000/lifetime up to age 49
  • Child Disability Benefit: up to $3,400/year (in addition; depending on income)

DTC claims may be backdated by up to 10 years.

Consider reaching out to T.J. Firenze at Disability Tax Advocates for support to guide you through the complexities of applying for the DTC; or contact your own professional financial advisor.
